2020-2021 U19 End of Season

This past weekend brought 16 U19 Jack Frost racers to Elk for 3 days of racing! Included in our group were graduating 7 Seniors – ClaireJordanSofiaMorganMayaWinnie Brody. While some seniors may choose to continue to race next year, this was the final swan song for most!
Most kids who ski race have been doing it for at least 8 years competitively, with many years of development prior to that — so to say that it was a bittersweet weekend would be an understatement. There were new memories made, lots of laughs, and yes, even some tears. The ski racing community is tight knit, and to see the bonds these kids have formed through the years is really something special. It doesn’t matter which team you race for, these are lifetime friendships!
Friday and Saturday were GS races, with Kara W. placing 2nd on Saturday (Go Kara!). The sun came out on
Sunday for the final slalom race of the season.
Many seniors from across the state dressed to impress. There were superheroes, tutus, suits, a cow, a bear, some snazzy daisy dukes and Winnie the Pooh even made an appearance!
One last shout out to the Seniors and wishing each of you the best of luck in the future! See you all over winter break next year!
